The San Juan Detention Center is a long term detention facility located in Farmington, New Mexico. This is one of the largest detention facilities in the state with a capacity for 12,485 male and female inmates. This is a full service detention center that is operated by the county and serving all law enforcement agencies and courts that are within its jurisdiction. The staff and administrators of this detention center are committed to the care, custody and control of their inmate population. Inmate Services

Visitation at the San Juan Detention Center is held every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday and is held by appointment only. You can set up a visitation appointment by calling the visitation line at 505-566-4550 and leaving a message Monday through Friday. A Detention Center staff member will then get in touch with you to set up your visitation appointment. Children are allowed to visit the facility but only on Saturdays, and must be accompanied by 1 adult guardian. Inmates are allowed to have up to four children visit per week. All visitors to the facility will be required to show a valid ID or birth certificate.
