Miscellaneous Jail Info
Because of the crowded conditions at the jail, many new policies have been put into place in an attempt to lower the jail population. This includes things like work release, pretrial services, increased home monitoring, early case resolution and alternative sentencing. The Sheriff has the authority to release inmates from the jail after they have served 75% of their sentence if the inmate population grows to over 90% capacity. Early release is a last resort and requires authorization from the court for each inmate. All of these policies are attempting to streamline the judicial system in Larimer County as a whole, while lowering the prison population to a manageable rate.
