General Information

Each inmate is allowed two 45 minute social visits per week. These are available during daytime hours, 7 days a week. Depending on where in the facility an inmate is housed will determine when they are available for visitation. Weekend visits are extremely busy and will be scheduled on a first come first serve basis. Large groups of people have to be processed into the facility so you should come expecting delays on the weekend. There is now an inmate email system that allows family members to email inmates at the Sacramento County Jail. Inmates will not have access to a computer system but the emails will be printed out and delivered to the inmate. All inmates are allowed to receive unlimited mail but anything sent to the prison will be thoroughly scanned.
